from our weather cam, you can see a beautiful shot of the city skyline. still a little hazy. we've had some overcost clouds just hanging around for much of the -- overcast clouds just hanging around for much of the morning. we can't rule out the opportunity for a little sprinkle or two to move on in. that's why our day planner has a few of those drops falling by the 3:00 day part. temperatures are at 44 degrees. that's pretty much where we're going to sit for the remainder of the afternoon. as the moisture comes through, we might drop a degree to 43 by 3:00. after sunset we'll start the slow slide back out of the 40s and into the 30s. but because of the cloud cover, we're not really going to change too much temperature wise over the next several hours. here's how we look on satellite and radar. you see the large batch of moisture down to the south. that's along a cold front that will sliding off to the east. what's happening is most of that is hitting the southern zones, the slippery stuff, the icy precipitation staying in the higher elevations in the mountains. we are pretty

most of us saw a sprifrpgle or two. 31 tonight in the city. cooler back to the north and west which is typical as the neighborhoods will be colder. around dulles it's 28 and gaithersburg 28. tomorrow we warmup only into the 30s for most of us. we're talking 38 here in town. gaithersburg, 35. manassas 39. may touch 40 degrees or so farther to the south and southwest. and annapolis right around 40 degrees. it will be a sunny and chilly day tomorrow and i like the fact that it's going to be sunny and the winds are not going to be blowing all that much. even though going to be on the cool side in the 30s, not going to be super cold. we start off with sunshine at noon and again we're chilly as the temperature starts to back off late in the day. look at the accu weather 7 day forecast. 38 tomorrow, 39 on thursday. then we start a gradual climb that will take us through the weekend where we get back up into the 40s. 39 there and next week, 45 and 47. but did you notice across the board here, no big storms. no rain, no snow. nothing like that. so look

the new york state thruway will take it down toward the city and toward the mass pike. it's very wet, but the slush is gone. they treated, they plowed and they've been out with a full complement of trucks. buffalo had only had 6 inches of snow until yesterday, but now they have picked up 11 inches. right here on this cornest lath night, look at the wind and snow. man, it was good stuff. it was about 24 degrees, not to cold, a powdery snow, snowing at over an inch an hour. now we go to torington, connecticut. the suburbs had some snow, and this morning of all things, thunderstorms rolled through new york city. out there they had about 4, 5, 6 inches there in the hills of connecticut. you can see that white, that massive white in new england across the ski resorts, some of those spots would end up with a storm total of 12 to 18 inches, richard. this storm pulls out. it's had a checkered past, luckily, a christmas miracle, no one was killed, but we have another one for the weekend. this will be a weaker system, zip on through saturday. we're still getting our markers, some
